MLR friends and her family will miss her immensely. She died suddenly and unexpectedly at Tulane Medical Center of pancreatic cancer. Funeral services were held at St. John's Episcopal Church, Ocean Springs, Mississippi on February 2nd. Many MLR members and friends attended the service and sent memorials and flowers. The family was grateful for the prayers and condolences of so many.
M&M will be dearly missed by her long time companion of 31 years, Joe Pierotti, and her three daughters: Mary Snow, Gaynell Mayeux, and Terri Lynn Mayeux. She leaves behind six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She worked at the front desk at MLR for 10 years. She developed close relationships with her co-workers and enjoyed may friendships with members of the park. We give thanks to God for the time she was with us and we pray that God will hold her close. We remember John 3:16:For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
I would like to thank all Martin Lake Members for helping make us Mississippi's #'1 family recreational resort!! Martin Lake has in the last 8+ years put approximately 1 million dollars in new improvements. Speaking of new improvements, we have started phase II at the lake which includes two more cottages with handicap accessible showers bring our total to six new cottages and four cottages. Television and cable will be added to our rentals once the cable company finishes its work. Mini Golf supplies have been ordered and we are working to complete it by summer. Look forward to an expanded beach/picnic area with grills. our roads will be different as well, with new cement, plus a new entrance with plants and flowers. This will start around April or the beginning of May. Hope to see you and your friends enjoying the lake and its amenities this year, which will also include a basketball area. Let us apologize ahead of time for all the construction projects going on this summer. -Jerry

Any member wanting to add Coast to Coast don't drag your feet, add it before the cost goes up.All M.L.R. Members Regarding our guest situation . . . everyone agrees we all enjoy and wish to encourage continued guest use. We also all agree that guest use places an extra financial burden on the cost of operation the park. We asked for your suggestions and input on the best solution to cover these extra costs. We were overwhelmed and delighted with the number of members who responded with their ideas and input. With very little exception, almost everyone suggested a guest usage fee charged at the gate, of between $2.00 and $5.00 per person. The typical reason; where else can you take your family that's clean, safe, and has a nice family atmosphere for $2.00 to $5.00 per person?
Because of your input and ideas, the following will be put into effect from May 1st to September 30th of each year.
- Members and their immediate family - no charge
(includes children and parents of members).- Pre-school age children (under 6) - no charge
- All other guests - $2.00 per day.
- No guest fee will be charged on Tue., Wed., & Thur.
As a member of Martin Lake I will:
- Use Lifejackets in Boats
- Observe one-way roads.
- Observe the 5 MPH speed limit.
- Obey posted pool and hot tub rules.
- Clean up after my pets
- Not park on the grass.
- Have my proper ID card when visiting the Resort
