Today we poured the north part of Dogwood. About a total of 207ft. This was a considerably bigger pour as the road is 16ft wide instead of 12ft. Things went rather smoothly. I believe we are going to shoot another 200ft or so before we start on the sites.

Well, we poured concrete on Monday. Basically we added 130ft to the rd that goes east/west on the north side of Cedar. We have also started construction on Dogwood. Won't be long and we should have the first 1/3 of it completed. Then we will be putting in the sites. Let's all hope for good weather.
Boy we have been getting packed. Park is really starting to fill up. We also had a Good Sam bus in at the park. Thought that was interesting. Basically a giant billboard of a motorhome advertising Good Sam staying at a Coast to Coast/RPI/AOR park. Well, everyone have a safe Halloween and I will try and keep you posted.

10-06
Hello everyone. Hope things are good with you. I've been down with a cold. The fourth cottage is almost finished. CableONE should be hooking up the cable shortly. We are also putting cable in on the east side of Azealea.
I also fixed a couple broken links on the website. I got another camper listed for sale. That's all for now.

Martin Lake is deeply saddened by recent events and our hearts go out to the people of New York, Americans and those throughout the world affected by this tragedy. We have faith that our Commander in Chief will get "down to business" and stamp out the people responsible. In the meantime, we need to come together as a nation, and do what we can for the families involved in these tragedies.

Well things have slowed down a bit. We are still working on cottage 4 and should hopefully get it ready for Labor Day. We did pour the driveway a little over a week ago. I have been doing some work on my computer. Put in a new harddrive and have been transferring software over so I haven't been able to update the webpage. I got some pictures from a member and will put some of them up shortly.
The classified section has been nice. Remember to let me know if you have anything to sell. I had two campers up on it but one has been sold. There is no cost to list your items but you must be a member (of course). That's all for now. Hope to see you soon.

Hey Everyone. I put up some new pictures of the cottages. I'm not sure if all the links are ok as I haven't tested it yet. I will in a few minutes. Mostly what the furnished cottage looks like inside. I will put up some pictures from the outside but we have some finishing touches first. I will say it looks much better with the sod in place. The 4th cottage has been sheetrocked and is waiting to be taped.
I've also put up some pictures of the 4th of July. Hope you all enjoy.

Hey Eric!

6-30
Got the fireworks. We blast off at dark.
-Jay

6-26
We've been working on getting the driveways poured for the cottages. Concrete is coming tomorrow so It'll be nice to get that out of the way.
Firedogs were out this past weekend. Everything went well. It was a lot of fun and a good chance to support our team. One memorable even was the tug of war. In an even match of Firedogs vs. Members the Members managed to avoid the waterpit. But they were no match for the kids, who beat them decidedly (with the help of one very large kid who plays football ;-))
Well, I'm gonna have to pick up some fireworks for this 4th blast. The fireworks will be shot off the Sat before the 4th. Hope you all can make it. That's it. If you can't make it, have a safe holiday.

6-21
Well it didn't stop raining. I think I might have lost a couple new trees due to too much water. We'll see. Let's see, we've been working on the cottages diligently. #3 is close to completion and #4 has a new roof. They are putting in the electrical this week. Our guys have been working on getting the main water line put in. I've been working on underground sprinklers myself. Hopefully next week we can pour some driveways and lay some sod. Cable One is supposed to be getting back to me on the cable. I'm begining to wonder if anyone wants our business. I can't get someone from DirecTV to give me the lowdown and Cable One has been impossible to get a hold of. I think I might finally have a handle on it though.
Looks like the Firedogs are going to have a big whoop out at the park this coming weekend. Games, prizes, etc. Even going to have a tug of war with a mud pit and all. Should be a lot of fun. If you want to meet some of the players come on out.
Met with Phil Daddio, Vice President of Reciprocal Sales for AOR, today. We discussed AOR and the different packages they are now offering. Also discussed their website which has changed quite a bit. If you haven't looked into AOR and you are full time RVing I would recommend you look into it.
Lastley, I added another camper to the classifieds. It's a big one.

It's raining! Finally. Memorial Day was great. Nice weather, lots of happy campers. We even rented out two of the cottages. Speaking of cottages the third is coming along nicely and the fourth still needs some work.
I have added a couple of new businesses to the webpage. Concrete work and Air Conditioning work, both giving MLR members a 10% discount. Also, I have added a new page for member classifieds. You can email me if you have a camper, car, truck, house, bike, husband, boat, etc. for sale. (just no memberships :-) ) Any pictures you have will help you sell your item/items. (If selling husband, no nude pics please) There won't be any charge for this service. So far I have only one camper listed. Just please make sure to let me know if you sell your item so I can take it off the page.
We have removed 5 pines from the mini golf area. As soon as the stumps are ground we will start laying out the course. I am also posting some pictures of the palms we planted for the mini golf. That's it for now. Cheers
-Jay

5-03
Well gang, it's been a busy couple of weeks. I haven't been working on the minigolf for a little while as I have been planting some trees and of course watering a bunch. We could really use some rain. We planted about 30 trees last year and considering how dry it was last year we were lucky to only lose a couple. So far this year I have planted 15 more and we just received 9 more trees for the minigolf area. Five palms and four "Queens?", very tropical. Don't ask me when the mini golf will be done as I have no idea. I've never built one before so bear with me. Chris and I have already laid 16 pallets of brick and we received another 16 pallets. If you haven't seen "the great wall of Martin Lake" check out the pics I have so far.
The cottages have been coming along great. The tile is even done on one of them (see pics) and Paul and Paul Jr. are even framing up the fourth cottage. The fifth and sixth will be a bit longer but not a whole lot. Right now all the cottages will have an open floor plan. There is private bedroom. We are considering making the bedroom private in the fifth and sixth. If you have any imput please call reservations and let M&M know how you feel. As always member input is very important to us.
Well that's it for now. Enjoy the new pics I put up tonight. -Jay

4-17
Well, Easter was a blast. I have put up plenty of pics of the whole event. I have also added pics of the minigolf project and the cabins. So far Chris and I have laid over 15 ton of brick. We also have some trees coming in that we will be planting.
The cabins have been coming along wonderfully. They have been painted, sheetrocked and textured. We met with the member doing the tile today as well. Things have been going so well we have decided to continue with 3 more cabins. The materials for framing should be on site tomorrow. If you haven't been out to the park lately try and visit the website. I'll try to keep updating the pics often. -Jay

3-22
The cabins have been coming along well. We have had some members chip in for some of the work done. Three cabins have been framed and the shingles have been put up on two of them. They are also working on the siding on the second cabin. I've also added some new pics. They are a couple of new cabin pics and some pics of the third slab we poured. Also a couple shots of the plumbing were added. I decided to leave them in their native 1024x768 rather than crop or shrink them down to 800x600. Those of you with small monitors might have to do some scrolling but most people are on at least 17" monitors now. -Jay

3-09
Well we have been very busy lately getting the new cabins built. You can see many pictures of the construction process at the website. Things have been going rather smoothly with only a few minor setbacks. We just got done pouring the 3rd foundation tonight. Hopefully it won't rain for a while as it was just setting up when I left at 9:00pm. The reason we poured so late was that the inspector didn't make it out until 1:00pm and then the earliest we could get concrete was 3:00pm. The first cabin already has the shingles up on it. Soon the siding will be going up. We are really excited to be adding these cabins.
I've also been working on another project, which I am rather excited about getting underway. I'll let you know what it is in due time. Until then . . . patience. :-)
Lastly, we are putting together a promotional deal with the Mississippi Firedogs. I'll let you know more when we finish the deal.
-Jay

2-25
Well, the cabins have been cranking along. You can catch the pictures at the website. I'm trying to keep it as updated as possible. I'm also adding pictures to the staff and general sections.
The Mardi Gras parade was a success. Lots of beads and lots of fun. -Jay

2-16
Well, the newsletter has been up for a couple days and I just sent the email out. The printed version should arrive within the next couple days.
Work has been going well on the cabins. We have the foundation for one done and we are preparing two more as you read this. Paul (member) will be putting the walls up some time next week. I should have some pictures up shortly. We are trying to get as many as possible. You'll have to be patient as I am pretty busy on the weekends and weekdays. (what else is there?) Anyway, got lots of pics so when I do get them up, enjoy. -Jay

2-07
Well, we have been pretty busy since the last update.
Some of you are aware that MLR is building some new cabins. The old cabins will remain where they are and it will be business as usual. The new cabins will be along the drainage ditch which runs N-S behind the old pullthrough sites. The cabins are going to be a little larger than the old ones and are planned to have jaquzzi tubs, cable tv/vcr and kitchen accomodations. They should sleep 6 when finished. I have posted some new pictures showing the construction process. We are using steel framing and a member (Paul) is doing the building. We currently have the materials to do 3 cabins and we are planning on doing around 10. I'll try to keep you posted with pictures.

Newsletter. Marc has started working on it and so we should see it shortly. Those of you who get the newsletter through email should get it before everyone else. That's all for now folks. -Jay

1-17
Hello all. Things have been pretty quiet here. The laundry room is finished and looks wonderful. We will be starting on some cabins very shortly. Sid should be getting the approval letter this week (if he hasn't already). We are excited to get going on the project. Well, that's it for now. Happy New Year. -Jay
